We have a few things that we sell on a seasonal and as-available basis. If you're interested in any of the below items, please contact us:
We have both ADGA registered and unregistered Nubian Goats (our original herd was unregistered and we're building towards a registered one). We sell a few goats each year to keep the herd at a manageable size for our existing property. Mostly does, sometimes pregnant, and rarely a billy. We sell only to non-kill operations. Price dependent on age and status.
We have pastured chicken eggs available, fed with non-GMO, soy-free layer feed from a mix of bird breeds (Rhode Island Reds, New Hampshire Reds, Barred Rock, Sussex, and a few farmyard mixes). $5 a dozen when in season and available (typically spring/summer/fall).
Comfrey Root Cuttings
We grow mostly Russian Bocking-14 Comfrey here for fodder, mulch, and comfrey tea. Overwinter we harvest and send the roots out. Each root cutting is $15, and shipping is $8. Local pickup is available at the farm, just reach out and ask.
Jerusalem Artichoke Roots
We have a local variety that we've propagated here for many years that we've dubbed "Madison" as it came from a farm in Madison County, VA. There are also a few other named varieties that we may or may not have available depending on the season. $20/lb for Madison, $25/lb for the other named varieties.
We have a variety of items that we sell on an ongoing basis depending on what's available:
- Jalapeño Jelly (farm-grown Tam Jalapeños)
- Garlic powder (farm-grown garlic, mixed)
- Misc. pickles, etc.
We save certain seeds for various varieties. Some things we're selling this year:
- Okra, Cow's Horn
- Summer Squash (Vining), Choctaw Round (small green globes that grow into creamy orange slightly oblong pumpkin-type squash).
- Lambs Quarter
- Amaranth, Red
Apple and Pear Tree Scionwood
If you're interested let us know. We have a variety of these that get pruned each year and we can send good scion wood for grafting purposes. We don't maintain an active list as this 2+ acre orchard is something we're still establishing. More to come in the future.
