A Venison Garden
I had been pleasantly surprised by the lack of destruction on the garden so far this year and chalked it up to the proximity to the house as well as the paddocks surrounding the house from the "wild" areas of the property. Apparently that had little to no true effect once the deer realized that we had strawberries (all destroyed), green beans (partially destroyed), grape vines (partially destroyed), and sweet potatoes (mostly destroyed).
So, with that being said, it appears our garden is growing venison on the hoof. Harvest will be this fall. There's at least 9 in the herd that frequents our property. Time to make speace in the deep freezer.
